A recently retired permanent secretary, Mr Wilfred Nyachia is now the new chief executive officer of the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture.

Interesting selection, seems like a person with extensive experience, which definitely qualifies him for the job. Surprising really that the TCCIA has contributed very little in advocacy of policies to support small businesses and industries. In my opinion issues of significant importance include building the capacity of its members to manage businesses competitively, through the establishment of appropriate educational programs that will guarantee businesses a good supply of human capital, groomed and prepared to power the growth that they seek.
